Guestline Rezlynx: Add a master to a Group

You can add or cancel a Master Account to a group - as an additional type of account that allow bills and folios to be created without having to create a room reservation.

Once you have created a Group in Rezlynx, you can perform a variety of actions - including: creating a mid-stay change, setting up a Group Series, adding release rules, holding rooms on a block, picking up rooms, configuring charge routing, adding a master account, changing Group dates, cancelling a Group, and generating Group reports - all designed to help you manage your group bookings in the best way for your property and your team.

The Master Accounts are an additional type of account that allow bills and folios to be created without having to create a room reservation. A master account, on the Main tab, can hold information regarding the Media Source and Market Segment. They can have a credit limit applied and have a balance amount and balance due by date associated to them. The master account allows charges to be routed to it rather than one of the rooms in a Multi-Room.

How to add a Master account onto a group

  1. Click 3-dot menu (...) then select Add Master and you will be taken to a new screen to create the Master Account.

  2. The Master account will open on the ‘Main page, enter the following information:

    • Description - A free type description used to identify the master in the NRA & Masters section of the Billing menu.

    • Name - This is used to free type or link a person profile.

    • Market Segment - The same as the multi-room reservation.

    • Media Source - The same as the multi-room reservation.

    • Interface Posting Mode - This has options of ‘All Allowed’, ‘None Allowed’ and ‘Phone Only’ and works in the same way as on a reservatio


Balances & Deposits

To set up the Master ‘Guarantee’ tab, follow the steps below:

  1. Set your Guarantee Type, comments, Ledger and payment details as you would in an individual reservation.

  2. Click Save in the bottom right hand corner.

  3. For charges to go to the Master Account, charge routing must be set up.

  4. You will see the Master Account appear in the Pick List marked with the Booking Reference only.


How to cancel a Master account on a group

To cancel a Master account on a group, follow the steps below:

  • Click on the 3-dot menu (...).

  • View Pick List - The Master account will have the Booking Reference only.

  • Click on the Reference.

  • Click Options and select Cancel.

  • Choose the Cancellation Code and Cancel Reservation(s).

📌Note: If there is a deposit please action accordingly and if charge routing has been set up this will fail as the Master will no longer exist.


Charge Routing

In addition to adding the option to "Route Charges From" on individual reservations, we also took the opportunity to incorporate this capability into Master bookings as well.

When opening the Guarantee tab on a Master you will see the new entry of ‘Charge Routing Rules’. The system will only give the option to ‘Route Charges From’.
Select Bookings allows you to search for the arrival date or the booking reference of the picked up rooms. Tick the rooms applicable, click Continue and you will then see the number of bookings now being routed to the Master booking.

⚠️Important: Charge routing rules will only apply to reservations that have been picked up after the charge routing has been set up on the group and prior to check in.
