Complimentary vouchers can be issued for various reasons, such as goodwill gestures, correcting mistakes, or supporting charitable causes. This guide explains when and how to create a complimentary voucher.
When to create complimentary vouchers
You might want to create a complimentary voucher in the following situations:
As a goodwill gesture for guests.
To replace a voucher redeemed by mistake.
As a donation or prize for a charitable cause.
Issuing complimentary vouchers
To create a complimentary monetary voucher with a zero value, follow the steps below:
Create a monetary voucher type with a value of £0.
Use the message section to specify what is included in the voucher when placing the order.
Apply a CCS override in the template to hide the price on the monetary voucher type.
⚠️Important: Your web developer can configure this setting.
Redeeming the voucher
When redeeming the voucher:
Post the charges onto a management account or similar, as the voucher value is zero.
⚠️Important: You will need to add a dedicated pay type to differentiate from your other vouchers. This must be created in Rezlynx PMS, if you don't have one already, then you will need to add the same pay type in GuestVoucher and then map the pay types in GuestVoucher.
