⚠️Important: ResDiary must be enabled for your property to use this feature.
This feature enables guests to make restaurant bookings online as part of the Guest Portal.
Restaurant Bookings via the Guest Portal
Once guests have accessed the Guest Portal and selected Manage Reservation, Restaurants can be selected from the left-hand menu. The guest is then asked to complete the following fields:
Restaurant: select from the drop-down menu, in case the hotel has more than one.
Number of people: which by default is the number of guests in the booking and can be changed.
Date: options include arrival and departure days, as well as all resident days.
Time: live availability is shown, as provided by ResDiary.
Area: an optional field that can be enabled/disabled based on the needs of the hotel (set within System, Ini Settings, Interfaces).
Promotions: are defined in the restaurant's ResDiary configuration. Promotions may or may not have a price associated to it. This price will be shown in case it's available.
Personal information: guest information is pre-populated from the booking profile and can be changed.
Marketing consent: this is a field that is directly sent to the 3rd party ResDiary.
Guest comments: free text area in which the guests can add any comments or requests.
Once the guest has complete the fields, they select Complete Booking. A new table will be directly created in ResDiary and the booking reference is immediately displayed in the portal. The portal will also offer a shortcut to guests to automatically include that booking in their Google Calendar. Guests can repeat this process to complete a restaurant booking for as many nights of their stay as required.
Guests can also cancel the table booking from within the Guest Portal. This option is available when hovering over their confirmed reservation. Cancelling a table in the portal will also remove the booking in ResDiary and Rezlynx PMS. Additionally, cancelling the room booking from within the portal will also trigger the cancellation of any booked tables associated with that booking.
This is how the Restaurant tab is displayed within the Guest Portal:
