The Overbooking feature is particularly valuable for sites in city centres, hotel groups, or independent hotels that experience high no-show or cancellation rates.
This feature allows properties to:
Distribute more room stock than physically available.
Manipulate stock between Zip and Link rooms, later distributed to Double or Twin rooms.
Apply complete overbooking on total stock.
However, successful overbooking requires careful planning to avoid guest dissatisfaction. Without a strategy or process, properties risk financial loss, negative reviews, and loss of partner trust.
By default, the Overbooking feature is disabled. However, it can be configured by the user, depending on access rights, directly in Guestline PMS, CRS Configuration and Distribution Hub without having to call Guestline support. This configuration is available by site, date, room type, overall value, channel and connections (i.e. properties can distribute overbooking values to some booking agents and not others), providing hoteliers with the ability to plan, configure and manage their overbooking strategy carefully. Overbooking values will be communicated from Guestline Rezlynx PMS or CRS to Guestline’s Distribution Hub and subsequently shared with channels (where they have been configured to include these values).
