There are several user access rights related to the overbooking functionality which we will review in this article. These access rights provide granular control over overbooking functionality, from basic booking permissions to advanced configuration access. Ensure users are granted appropriate rights based on their role and responsibilities within your organisation.

Requirements

To edit user permissions, you must have administrator access to the system and appropriate permissions to modify user access rights.

Access to user permissions

You can access user permissions by navigating to System, System, then select User Setup. Click into the user group to edit permissions.

Overbooking user permissions

  • Allow Booking of Pre-Defined Overbooking Values (Reservations): This access right gives permission for users to book from the values that have been entered into the Overbooking Configuration grid. Important: Without this access right, when there is no availability but there is an overbooking value, the user will NOT be able to make a booking.

  • Overbooking Configuration Logs (Reports): This access right allows users access to view the Overbooking Logs.

  • Overbook Room Type Availability and Overbook Total Availability (Reservations): If both access rights are enabled, then users with that access will be able to exceed the configured overbooking values. It is also assumed that users with access to these rights also have access to Allow Booking of Pre-Defined Overbooking Values, even when it hasn't explicitly been granted.

  • Overbooking Configuration (System Config): Allows users access to setting the Overbooking configuration.

  • Overbooking Configuration (CRS Configuration): Allows users access to CRS overbooking.
