A rate level or ceiling is a table of dates and room types that rate plans are then linked to in order to limit the number of rooms that can be booked against the rate plan. Multiple rate plans can be linked to one ceiling - however each rate plan can be linked to only one ceiling.

The rate level or ceiling names can be set within Rezlynx within System, then under Configuration select Ini Settings, and then click Interfaces.

Best Western call these ceilings "buckets" and use them to calculate availability for online sales.

Managing rate levels or ceilings

Step 1: Set the rate level allocations in Rezlynx

To set the level or ceiling allocations in Rezlynx, follow the steps below:

  1. Within Rezlynx navigate to System, within the Rates menu select Ceilings.

  2. Expand all the BW levels by clicking on the arrow. Level A does not show as it is the total room inventory for the whole hotel, and cannot be amended.

  3. Click the rate level you wish to update the allocation for.

  4. Update the values in view or by using the pattern fill feature, to control; the number of rooms being exposed on a specific date.

⚠️Important: A stands for availability and C stands for ceiling value you are entering. The line at the very top of the table has no room type and is the overall value. If only the overall value is set, or only a room type value is entered, the level is closed. In order for the level to be open at BW - the room type and overall values must be set. The overall value must equal the total room type values.

  5. Once completed, click Save.

Step 2: Resync the rate level or ceiling to Distribution Hub

To resync the rate level or ceiling to Distribution Hub, follow the steps below:

  1. Within Rezlynx navigate to Systems, then within the Tools menu select Re-sync.

  2. Under Distribution Hub set the dates for the changes you have made.

  3. Note: You can only re-sync for 30 days at a time. The support team can resync this for a longer period if required.

  4. Tick ceilings and select the levels you have updated.

  5. Click Confirm. This will now adjust the level allocations at Memberweb.
