A Rate Plan Ceiling is set within Rezlynx and is read-only within Distribution Hub so cannot be edited or created within Distribution Hub. A Rate Ceiling limits the number of reservations made on a certain Rate Plan by day, either at Room Type level or at hotel level using a Total Room ceiling.
Rate Ceilings will not affect availability, however once the Ceiling has been reached, a Close will be triggered. If the Ceiling is set at Hotel level using a Total room ceiling, the Close will trigger to all Room Types mapped for that Rate Plan. If the Ceiling is set at Room Type level, only channels with this Room Type mapped will trigger a close.
Once the Ceiling is lifted, so for example a reservation is cancelled that matches the Ceiling, an Open will be triggered to the Channels.

You can review the rate ceilings in place within Distribution Hub by navigating within the system using either of the routes below:
Rezlynx, Distritbution Hub, Rates and then select Rate Ceilings
Distribution Hub, Configuration, Rates and then select Rate Ceilings.
Click Details to review a specific rate ceiling:

An example of using a Rate Ceiling would be to limit the number of reservations made on a particular Rate Plan, possibly for a promotional Rate Plan.
⚠️ Important: Adding a ceiling will NOT restrict how many rooms will show available on online channels (i.e. OTAs & your own website), it will simply restrict the number of individual reservations that can be booked if a ceiling is set.
