Stock countdown can be used to ensure items are not oversold.

Enabling stock countdown

  1. Navigate to EPoS Back Office, PLU Setup, Menu Config then Menu Tab Templates.

  2. Check the right-hand side of the screen to see if the stock countdown button is already available.

  3. If not, drag the stock countdown from the System Tab on the left-hand corner and place it on the desired layout area.

  4. Click Save to confirm your changes.

📌 Note: Make sure to restart the till units for the changes to take effect.

Using stock countdown

  1. Sign in to the EPoS till using your staff PIN.

  2. Select stock countdown from the right-hand panel.

    • You will need to enter your PIN again to confirm authorisation.

    • If you don't have permission, a local admin will need to grant access.

  3. Choose the item and enter a stock level. The number you assign will be visible as a numeric value against the PLU item.

  4. Once you're done, select stock countdown again to exit the mode.

Additional options

Close of Stock

  • Marks an item as no longer available. When this option is enabled, an insufficient stock message will prevent the item from being sold.

  • To make the item available again, enter stock countdown mode and use the remove count option.

Remove Count

  • Clears stock levels or removes closed-out items, making them sell-able again or resetting their assigned stock.

Stock Location

  • Allows you to track where items are located when sold.
