Can I connect directly to a Travel Agent Channel through the extended Channel Portal?

All Travel Agents must be contracted directly with the hotel prior to connection through Extended Channels.


When selecting the Channel Manager in the Travel Agent Portal which one do I choose?

OTA SWITCH should be the connection used if this is not in the list STAAH should be selected. Guestline is NOT the connection to select.


What are XML Usernames & Passwords?

These are the user ID & Passwords used by the property to enter the Travel Agent portal.


What is my Channel Hotel ID?

This is usually a numerical code given by the Travel Agent for a site-specific reference, for example: 151563. The property name would not usually be part of this.


Why am I seeing a rate value of 9999?

If a rate value has not been populated for a date, to avoid sending 0.00 the system will default to 9999.00.
It is advised that a minimum of 3 years flex tables are set to avoid this happening.


Where do I resync rates from?

When first exposing rates to Distribution a resync should be done from Rezlynx to send rates and restrictions up to Distribution. Once the mapping has been completed for the Travel Agent, a sync should be done from the sync button on the travel Agent Mapping screen. (This can only be done once the connection is active).


The Travel Agent is requesting Occupancy (per person) rates, how do I do this?

In Rezlynx the rate should be set to Per Person (a separate rate plan may be needed) then check the specific Travel Agent Connection guide for specific setup per channel. Generally, it would be a clickable option to select Room / Occupancy Rates.


How do I close out to a Travel Agent?

To be able to close out to a specific channel, a rate per connection should be built in Rezlynx. The rate can then be closed out in Rezlynx using

restrictions

and will feed out to the Travel Agent.

Can I use Price Variances with Extended Channels?

Yes, Price Variance can be set in the Distribution area for Extended Channels.
