Guestline Rezlynx: Denials overview

Denials are a feature within the system that can be enabled to track why bookings are not completed or why customers abandon the booking process.

Denials is functionality within Rezlynx that can be enabled in order to track why bookings are not being completed or customers walking away from making a booking.

Enable Denials in Rezlynx

To enable Denials, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to System menu, System, Ini Settings.

  2. Select Reservations from the left-hand menu.

  3. Under the Rate Plan Search section, tick the checkbox for Denials to enable the feature.


Add Denial Codes

To add Denial codes, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to System menu, Codes and Rules, Denial Codes.

  2. Click New and add a new denial code with a maximum of 12 characters, using underscores for spaces.

  3. Enter a Denial Code and Description.

  4. Select Properties.

  5. Click Save Changes to save any edits or additions.

📌 Note: Alternatively, click Discard Changes to cancel any unsaved amendments.


How Denials work in the Rate Plan search

Denials screens help to keep track why bookings are not being completed. When a user closes the Rate Plan Search screen without completing a reservation, the Denial screen will appear.


The user will be prompted to:

  • Select a Denial Code

  • Optionally enter notes

  • Record estimated lost revenue

  • Attach a contact profile

  • Record stay information, etc.

The user can then Save the changes.


Denials Reporting

To access the report navigate to Reports menu, Reservation, Denials.

Report features:

  • View all denials recorded in the system

  • Filter by:

    • From Date

    • To Date

    • Denial Code

    • Operator

    • Order By (Denial Date or Arrival Date)

Filter notes:

  • Filters can be used but not saved

  • No hyperlinks are included

Report data includes:

  • Operator

  • Denial Code

  • Number of Denials

  • Number of Nights

  • Adults

  • Children

  • Infants

  • Average Available Rooms

  • Estimated Average Lost Revenue

This data is summarised by Operator and Denial Code.
