To create a new PLU item for Food please follow the steps below:
Within the Back office navigate to PLU setup, then click the button labelled PLU Items.
To the right of the screen you will see various setup options
Charge Code - Select the charge code that the item you are creating will be using.
📌 Note: Make sure that the correct charge code is selected as this can affect Pick List printing, revenue recording and Shift Allowance absorption in Rezlynx).
Click Add
Once you have selected Add a new window will launch to complete the PLU setup. As a minimum you will need to complete the following sections:
Receipt Description
Selling Price
Tax Rule
Once complete click Save.
Confirm the pop up for PLU creation and your new PLU item is ready.
Additional Configuration (Optional Fields):
Screen Description: If left blank, the receipt description will automatically be used for display.
Look Up Code: Enter a numeric code to enable PLU searches at EPoS terminals (useful for wine bin numbers).
Unit Cost: Displays the Gross Profit % based on 100% selling price. This also updates in reports and reflects discounts.
PLU Information: Add any extra information (e.g., allergens). This can be viewed via the PLU Information button on the EPoS screen.
Prompt for Price Override: Useful for items with fluctuating prices, such as "Market Fish of the Day". It prompts the user to enter a price on the EPoS terminal when selected.
Package: For items made up of other PLUs , for example a cocktail, then you can create a package. This will break down stock sold and suggest selling prices and achievable gross profit.
Block Price Override: Selecting this will prevent users from changing the item's price on the main EPoS screens.
