Market Segments are attached to reservations or events to collate data for your reports. Market Segments are used to break down the types of revenue by business type. When a rate is selected and added to a reservation, the Market Segment will be pre-defined and set within the rate plan.
If you use Standard Conference & Banqueting, a Market Segment code will show in both Rezlynx and Conference & Banqueting. If you use Advanced Conference & Banqueting, you need to select the codes to use in Conference & Banqueting.
Create a Market Segment Group
Groups are used to organise Market Segments within the system.
To create a Market Segment group to organise your Market Segments, follow the steps below:
Navigate to System, Codes & Rules, and then select Market Segments.
Select New Group.
Enter a Market Segment Group name in capitals, with a maximum of 12 characters.
Enter a Description.
Click Save.
Create a Market Segment
To create a Market Segment, follow the steps below:
Navigate to System, Codes & Rules, and then select Market Segments.
Select New Market Segment.
Enter a Market Segment name in capitals, with a maximum of 12 characters.
Select a Market Segment Group Code from the drop-down menu.
Enter a Description.
Tick to Use In Conference & Banqueting.

Click Save.
