Guestline PMS: Copy a rate plan to create new pricing

Duplicate an existing rate plan quickly so you can create new pricing options without rebuilding the configuration from scratch.

Written by Xanthe Jackson

You can use Copy Rate Plan in Guestline PMS to duplicate an existing rate plan directly from the Rate Plans screen. This gives you a consistent starting point for new or derivative rates such as corporate, promotional, or loyalty pricing, while reducing manual setup and errors.

Using Copy Rate Plan helps you:

  • Create new rate plans faster.

  • Reduce configuration errors.

  • Maintain consistency across related rates.

  • Support flexible pricing strategies using linked or independent rules.

  • Simplify setup for less experienced users.

  • Improve efficiency for revenue and front office teams.

⚠️ Important:

  • The Product Rule is always shared with the original rate plan and cannot be copied independently.

  • The new rate plan is created with Rate Plan Available cleared, so it is not bookable until you review it.

  • Auto-generated codes for copied rules and tables stay within the 12-character limit and avoid duplication.

Choose your copy type

You can choose how closely the new rate plan is linked to the original.

Linked copy

  • Shares Rate Rules, Supplement Rules, and Product Rules with the original.

  • Use this when you want the new rate plan to inherit pricing from the source.

  • Changes to shared rules apply to both rate plans.

Independent copy

  • Select checkboxes to copy Rate Rules and the Supplement Rule.

  • Creates new, independent rules and associated rate tables.

  • Allows you to update pricing without affecting the original rate plan.

  • You can define names for the new rules and rate tables.

📌 Note: If a rate table code already exists, the system generates a new unique code automatically.

What gets copied

The new rate plan includes:

  • Header fields.

  • Room type inclusions.

  • Company and user access lists.

  • Variances and restrictions.

  • Translations.

This ensures all related rate plans start from the same baseline.

What you need to set up manually

The following is not copied:

  • City tax configuration.
