If rates have not been configured with the correct Best Western(BW) rules when first created, you will start to see Warnings populate in the monitoring page of Distribution Hub. To ensure optimum communication between all systems, we would recommend that you deal with the warnings.

Check for warnings

To check for warnings on the monitoring page of Distribution Hub, navigate to the Distribution Hub monitoring page in either of the following ways:

  • Within Rezlynx PMS, navigate to Distribution hub, then under the Connections menu select Monitoring.

  • OR Within the Distribution Hub, navigate to Monitoring, and select Monitoring.

Check in the top right hand corner of the screen, if the option to "Temporarily view standard monitoring" shows then select this.

The monitoring page shows the warnings generated for the Best Western interface, and the number of warnings specifically for Rates & Inventory.

📌Note: There may be a lot warnings. We will try to cover the main warning messages, but ultimately, you may have to consult the Rate Plan and match the configuration against the BW rules to correct the warnings.

Find the cause of the warnings

You can determine the cause of the warnings shown by reviewing the individual warning messages and reviewing the XML response warning message.

To access the warning messages and review the XML, follow the steps below:

  1. Within the Monitoring page, click on the number displayed under the orange warnings column for BW Rates and Inventory.

  2. A list of all the monitoring warnings is displayed, showing the request type and comments. This information will differ for all warnings, but it does give you further information as to where the issue lies, however you will need to view the XML for the full information.

  3. Click View on the right of the screen to view the XML for the specific warning.

  4. The XML screen shows the response at the bottom of the screen, you may have to scroll to see the "WARNING" and the cause of it.

🤓Tip: Use CTRL+F on a PC to search for "WARNING" more quickly within the XML.

  5. Note the warning message as you will need to resolve this within Distribution Hub or within Rezlynx PMS depending on the issue seen. See below how to resolve some of the most common errors seen.

After dealing with the warnings

Once you have dealt with all of the errors, you will need to clear off the warnings.

To clear the warnings once you have dealt with them, follow the steps below:

  1. Within the Monitoring page, click on the number displayed under the orange warnings column for BW Rates and Inventory.

  2. A list of all the monitoring warnings is displayed, tick the box on the left of all of the warnings you have dealt with. These will be removed from the list and deducted from the warning number on the monitoring page.

Once you've cleared down the warnings, do revisit this screen after the next channel update. If you notice new errors for rate plans you've already amended, do not despair, you will possibly see a different message this time that will need to be dealt with.
