When your end-of-day report shows a total for an analysis code - for example, 'ACCOM' - and you want to see which bookings or charges make up that figure, you can use the Postings report. This article shows you how to match the analysis code total on your end-of-day (or shift, week, or month) report with the detailed list of transactions.
Find the analysis code total in the Postings report
To find specific analysis code charges shown on the end of day report, follow the steps below:
Navigate with Guestline PMS to Accounting, then select Reports, then Posting.
In the Period ID field, enter the period number that appears at the top of your end of day report.
📌Note: If you do not know the period number, select Search, choose the correct period from the list, and then select OK to populate the Period ID field.
In the Analysis code field, select the analysis code you want to review.
Change Limit to value to 9999 to include all results.
Select the Show Splits checkbox.
🤓Tip: Select Show Splits to separate package components (for example, breakfast) from the main accommodation charge so the totals match your analysis code figures.
Select Refresh to run the report.
⚠️Important: If the total in the Postings report does not match the total on your end of day report, first check that Show Splits is selected.
Review the list of transactions
After you refresh the report, you can confirm the charges that make up the analysis code total.
Review the list of transactions in the report. Each line shows an individual booking or charge posted to the selected analysis code.
Scroll to the bottom of the report and check the Transactions count.
⚠️Important: If the Transactions total equals the Limit, some transactions might be missing from the results. Always increase the Limit and refresh to ensure you can see all postings for the selected period.
Compare the Total amount at the bottom of the Postings report with the figure for the same analysis code on your end of day (or end of shift, week, or month) report. They should match.
📌Note: The Transactions total shows the number of individual postings that make up the analysis code total for the selected period.
Export or view the report
You can export or change the output format of the Postings report once you have confirmed the correct filters and totals.
Select View.
Choose your preferred output format and confirm your selection.
Step-by-Step Example
In this example, you want to understand the total shown under the ACCOM analysis code on your end of day report.
You open the Postings report.
You enter the Period ID that matches the end of day report.
You select the ACCOM analysis code and select Show Splits.

The Total matches the ACCOM figure on your end of day report, and the transaction list shows every charge that makes up this figure.
