Guestline Rezlynx: Add reservation booking lines

Previously, when you added a booking line to a reservation, Rezlynx used to recalculate the prices of any existing booking lines.

Previously, when you added a booking line to a reservation, Rezlynx used to recalculate the prices of any existing booking lines. This could be helpful to make sure the product prices were correct, however if the overall price for the rate plan had changed (common with flex rates), the previously quoted price would also change.

With our latest enhancements, adding a new booking line no longer changes the price of the original booking line. The original price stays the same, no matter if the rate plan has been updated. However, the individual components of the price will be recalculated. For example, if the Product Rule value changes, the overall booking price stays the same, but in Rate Analysis, you'll see adjustments to the product values, whilst the accommodation price adjusts to keep the total amount consistent.

To add a booking line, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the reservation you wish to change.

  2. Within the Main Tab, navigate to the Room & Rate section.

  3. Follow the Booking Line along to the right-hand side, click Add.

  4. On the Rate Search Screen, add in the dates, number of nights, occupants, rate plan as required, then click Find Rates.

  5. Tip: To change a room type we would recommend un-allocating the booking line first.

  6. Select the required rate.

  7. Note: If no rates return it could be due to the occupancy exceeding the occupancy set on the room selected.

  8. If you need to override as an extra person(s) can be accommodated in that room then:

  9. Tick/Untick the Hide When Restricted By.

  10. Click Find Rates.

  11. Select the required rate.

  12. The override availability box will appear - Enter a comment.

  13. Click Override.

  14. Click Save.

Once you have selected the rate for the extra night(s) it will appear in the Room & Rate section as a new booking line below any existing line. Each booking line has an ID.
