GuestPay with Adyen: PED shows "tamper" or "tampered" warning

Learn what a tamper message means and what you should do when your payment terminal detects a security issue.

If you see the tamper message, stop using the device immediately.

If the terminal detects a possible security breach, it’ll display a “tamper” or “tampered” message. If you see the tamper message, stop using the device, and contact Adyen immediately. The terminal will have to be replaced.

You can return a faulty terminal and order a replacement in a single request. Contact our Support Team to begin the replacement order.
