Maintain battery performance

Storing PEDs for long periods can reduce battery capacity or cause permanent damage. Follow these guidelines to protect the battery.

To prevent battery degradation:

  • Store terminals in a cool, dry place.

  • Keep terminals away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

  • Avoid overcharging. Do not store terminals with battery levels above seventy percent.

  • Avoid discharging. Do not store terminals with battery levels below forty percent.

  • Check for battery leakage or swelling every six months.

If a battery fails, you can contact the support teams to return or replace the terminal. Some PED models offer spare batteries that can be ordered separately.

⚠️Important: Dispose of faulty batteries according to your local regulations. Do not include a faulty battery in a return package, as this can cause leakage or thermal discharge.

Use the USB‑C charging cable

The terminal includes a USB‑C charging cable and a region‑specific power plug.

The cable meets USB industry and UL standards. Always use the USB‑C cable and power plug supplied by Adyen.

To prevent damage to the cable or the terminal’s USB‑C socket, follow these guidelines:

  • Insert and remove the cable by holding the connector end.

  • Do not push or pull the cable at an angle.

  • Do not bend or fold the cable.

  • Do not use excessive force when inserting or removing the cable.

  • Inspect the cable and the terminal’s USB‑C socket for foreign objects.

🤓Tip: If the terminal operates in high‑humidity, dusty or food‑service environments, consider adding a charging station to reduce wear on the USB‑C port.
