Guestline EPoS: Clean thermal receipt printers

To maintain the print quality of your thermal receipt printer, it's important to clean the thermal head periodically (around every 3 months).

What you will need:

  • A cotton swab

  • Alcohol solvent (e.g., ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, IPA)

Steps to clean the printer head:

  1. Turn off the printer and open the printer cover.

  2. Moisten a cotton swab with the alcohol solvent.

  3. Gently clean the thermal elements of the thermal head using the moistened swab.

    ⚠️ Important: Be careful not to touch the thermal head with your fingers or any hard object to avoid damaging it.

  4. Once cleaned, close the printer cover.

  5. Test the printer:

    • Hold down the 'Feed' button and, at the same time, turn the printer Power back on.

    • Continue holding the Feed button for 3-5 seconds until a test print is produced.
